SEEK ME NOW

The Kingdom of God is neigh unto you.

What is your purpose of Life in this city? A question I posed to myself some fifteen years ago. Where’s the work in Winston-Salem, was my second question. How does one begin a new life in an unknown city and state? The number one question I was asked, “Who’s your daddy” or “Where are you from” – and we didn’t sound like or talk with the same mannerism’s the folks used around these parts. We found or felt as if we were shunned from day one, though we also contended the folks around here are a bit slow or didn’t think the same way we did.

What causes these types of thoughts? Was the culture that much different? The dialect of language was confounding at times, were we in the United States of America? Well, many thoughts crossed our minds as we begin to settle in this little area of Forsyth County of North Carolina. We began to think like these folks, and our dialect changed over time and now, well I might not be a true Carolinian, but I have taken on the traits of many, the thought processes are not so confounding and now we communicate with the same tools of the trade, we are part of this culture.

Similarly, when one becomes a Christian who’s been transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit, one develops a new character with new words or perhaps leaving some words out of their sentences. Maybe one is not standing around the water cooler with buddies or girl friends talking about another classmate, or fellow worker. One doesn’t frequent the same watering holes as before and even though you may invite your old friends to the cross or church, most won’t come and may even think you’re treating them with disrespect, when in fact, they are the ones that need to cool off their heels and think about what life holds for them in their current walk. Most folks that are not Christian, however really gives no thought of wanting to know the God of the Universe and having been preached to, and poked at by some really mean “Christians” in the past have done more harm than good.

Let us not become one of those “Christians” that poke at the sinner but let us show by example what true Christianity is all about. Serving the needs of others is a primary objective in life, and helping everyone learn of God and His Gracious Love, for many are seeking Him Now, yet many know not how to pray, nor who to pray to. American Christians have been taught about God, perhaps not about Jesus, but many just have a way about them to chastise all who associate with Jesus.

By Not knowing the Truth, not accepting the truth when He is explained, or having been taught the wrong information as truth, will be a misnomer to all who come into contact with Him. Though He is able to insightfully produce His Saving Grace to all who will accept Him, one must ask Him in, and believe He arose from the dead. Thus, the story of God – His redemptive story must be taught accurately. The simple story of God’s grace for humanity to come into a right relationship with Him and given Free Will is most appropriate for the time as we know it. Seek Me Now, ask Me to Forgive Your Sins, and Believe I rose from the dead, which is the Hope I will give You, that when You die, You will be forever with Me in Heaven. Seek Me Now, if You don’t know Me. “Jesus, I believe You came to earth for my redemption, and I believe that You arose from the dead, as I will arise when You return for Your Church, and I will have eternal Life in Heaven with You!
